Unusual Finishing Touches

No room is complete without those all important finishing touches, but isn't it nice when you find something that little bit different to complement your interior surroundings? I don't know about you, but I like to surround myself with things that I know no-one else will have; I mean why follow the crowd when you can stand out from it?!!

It's this ethos which I have applied to Anuhya Interior Collection, seeking out products that are not only stylish but individual in looks and design. Another key aspect of Anuhya is that all the products featured are hand-crafted. This means that no two pieces will ever be the same as they all exhibit slight variations in the finish which I personally think adds to their charm.

Mixing and matching styles is another favourite pastime of mine, especially fusing contemporary home accessories with Asian influences. It's why I love to travel so much. I get such a buzz when I'm in a far flung country and come across a really special piece imagining it in its new 'home'. Sometimes I wish I had a mansion so that I could keep everything for myself but alas it's not to be!!

Instead, these one-off pieces form an important part of Anuhya Interior Collection, complementing the core range with some truly unique finds. It is these pieces that will really appeal to those of you seeking something completely individual but just remember, one they're gone, they're gone!

My Lazy Garden

It was an exciting week for me last week as my lastest shipment arrived containing products from the My Lazy Garden range. I always get a sense of anticipation when new stock arrives, not to mention satisfaction when I open the shipments up and see what's inside - a bit like Christmas!! I also get a real sense of enjoyment when I see products in the flesh and imagine them in their new home, bringing hopefully a lot of pleasure to those who buy them.

My Lazy Garden is probably my favoruite of all the products featured in Anuhya Interior Collection. As the name suggests, the products are based around various types of blooms you would find in a garden including a steel blossoms table decoration, floor decoration and stainless steel leaf decorations.

These stainless steel ornaments are crafted and laser cut by hand, the products are truly unique in design and looks. Conveying very contemporary looks, I can easily imagine these products sitting in a very modern loft apartment where the height and space would show them off to their fullest.

They could however, just as easily sit with a number of other interior styles, for example adding a touch of the modern to more classical environments. It's all about placement and one should never be afraid of experimenting with different interior styles.

The same can be said for many of the products featured in Anuhya Interior Collection, which have been selected for both their uniqueness and ability to harmonise with a number of interior styles. The result may be eclectic, but that's what makes it fun not to mention different. After all, who wants to the same as everyone else?!

Why Anuhya

The first thing people often ask me when they come across Anuhya Interior Collection is how to pronounce the name and where it comes from so I thought it was perhaps time that I enlightened you all!! The word Anuhya is actually pronounced aah..noo..ya. It is derived from an Indian girls name and its meaning is simply 'something unexpected.....in a pleasant way and valuable'.

My good friend Jacqui who I met when I was working in Sri Lanka actually suggested the name to me. She felt the meaning of Anuhya summed up what my collection is all about. So hopefully when you visit my site, you will come across many unusual accessories for the home that you would not perhaps be expecting to find, thereby finding something of value by virtue of its uniqueness. Of course, if you cannot find what you are looking for then I will always endeavour to try and source it for you!

All About Anuhya.....Unique, Harmonious & Timeless

Anuhya Interior Collection was borne out of my passion for all thing interiors. I am one of those people that has always been interested in other people's houses, imagining how I would decorate and furnish it if it were my own. But what really fuelled my interest in interiors and interior furnishings, was the four years I spent living and working in Sri Lanka where I came across many accessories for the home including hand crafted furniture, wood wall plaques and decorative interior accessories. Having arrived in Sri Lanka with just a couple suitcases, I returned to the UK four years later with a 40 foot container of personal possessions comprising furniture, interior accessories, artwork, objet d'art not mention two daschund dogs!!

What I love about my own personal collection of interior furnishings is the fact that the majority of pieces are unique, being either a special find that I came across when pottering around the antique yards during my weekends or a bespoke item that I had designed and made. My collection is also pretty eclectic that somehow manages to sit with any number of interior styles from classical to the more contemporary. Every piece has its place and when arranged together the result is an interior environment that is unique, harmonious and timeless.

Anuhya Interior Collection was created so that I could offer unique contemporary home accessories to those of you looking for something different from that typically found on the high street. The concept of uniqueness is at the core of everything I do, so I endeavour wherever possible to source products that you would not find elsewhere, many of which are one-off pieces. I also undertake commissions and bespoke work for those who want to create something completely individual and special.

So if you are after that something a little bit different be sure to take a look at Anuhya Interior collection. You may just find what you are looking for.
