A Touch of Asia

I've always liked to travel to unusual places and experience different cultures. It's a great way to broaden the mind and see how other people live. The Indian Sub-Continent and Asia are favourites of mine with a particular soft spot for Sri Lanka having lived there for 4 years.

Like many other people who travel, I often collect artifacts from the various places I visit, both as momento's and also to add to my eclectic assortment of unusual home accessories. Some of my favourite pieces are the wood wall plaques that I have depicting jungle scenes or, if I really want to bring a smile to my face, the cheeky kama sutra wall plaque.

Other items I have collected include my coastal shell sculpture. Having grown up in Devon with the luxury of the beach nearby, the sculpture reminds of school holidays spent collecting shells that then found their way onto the many trinket boxes that I made!!

In fact I'm off to Devon for the bank holiday weekend. Despite the fact that from a weather point of view it's supposed to be a wipeout, maybe I'll go to the beach and do spot of shell collecting or even crabbing. On the other hand I may just stay at home in the warm and admire my sculpture, using my imagination instead to pretend I'm at the beach!

Here Comes Summer

Well what glorious weather we've been experiencing over the last few days. It seems like only yesterday it was snowing and the country came to standstill and now the weather is more appropriate to barbeque's and alfresco dining!!

They always say that sunshine makes people feel happier and it is so true. It's always nice to do a spot of entertaining and have friends over but even more so when it can be done outside. And what better way to make your friends enjoy themselves by having some modern home accessories to complement the event.

Perhaps you have a terrace or patio area that needs a bit of colour. Well why not add an attractive stone vessel to the scene. With their coloured floating candles they add both colour and a touch of asia to your exterior environment.

Or maybe you need some additional lighting once the sun starts to set. Then consider a table top bowl candle finished in refreshing white or a lotus flower tealight holder. If you fancy bringing a touch of the medieval to your entertaining perhaps a pair of copper scorce wall mounted oil lamps which will do the trick.

And how about when it comes to serving up the drinks or keeping the wine chilled? Well whether it's wine bottle accessories, silver table top ice buckets or if you've really got something to celebrate champagne buckets that you are after, Anuhya Interior Collection has an attractive range of unusual home acessories that will not only make your evening go off with a bang but will also make you the envy of all your friends.

Modern Contemporary Furniture

I don't know about you but I have a real appreciation for beautiful furniture. I love the grain of various woods, different textures in the finishing and the array of products and styles that can be crafted from this material.

Like everything else, I like my furniture to be different with the ability to put my own personal stamp on it. That's why I steer clear of mass produced items and tend towards hand crafted furniture. I find it very fulfilling to have an idea and have a master craftsman produce it for me. I guess the best bit is knowing that I won't find it in any of the high street shops.

Hand made wooden furniture obviously isn't the cheapest way to furnish a house, but what you get for your money is a piece that is crafted to the highest standards from sustainable woods. Solid hand crafted furniture will also last you a lifetime and therefore is well worth the investment.

Anuhya Interior Collection offers a select range of modern contemporary furniture. From occasional tables to a leather ottoman bench, contemporary coffee tables to a love seat, our range of contemporary living room furniture will complement a variety of living spaces. If you are looking to put your own stamp onto any of our items, each piece can be customised to suit your individual requirements. Alternatively, if you are looking for fully bespoke furniture we can also undertake commissions to create completely unique stand alone pieces.
